WSDOT has announced multiple highway closures and lane restrictions effective this week through September for construction projects.
Starting Thursday evening, September 3, up to two lanes of southbound I-405 from milepost 12 to Coal Creek Parkway will be closed overnight until Friday morning, September 4. On August 28, northbound I-405 will close from the Northeast 85th Street on-ramp to Northeast 100th Street from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through August 31. State Route 20 will alternate traffic with flaggers daily (except weekends) from Swin Slough Bridge to Laconner Whitney Road for Anacortes utilities work beginning August 21.
The closures affect daily commutes and travel patterns, with detours and reduced lanes in place for infrastructure projects including fish passage construction near I-5 and utility work on SR 4. Most closures are scheduled for overnight or weekday work hours to minimize disruption.
