Walla Walla Principals Series Highlights Rob Ahrens“Rob Ahrens, Carnegie Learning Center What did you want to be when you grew up? After I gave up on my goal of becoming an astronaut as a sixth grader, I drifted through high school until my senior year, when I decided I wanted to serve my community as a teacher. What was your favorite subject in school? I really enjoyed the vast majority of my courses in school. I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to major in science, history, or English until the end of my freshman year of college. I chose science and became a physics major. What is one thing students might be surprised to learn about you? I used to play the violin. What is your favorite hobby or way to spend your free time? I enjoy fishing and traveling. If you could have dinner with any famous person, living or historical, who would it be? Jimmy Carter. What is your hidden talent? I have a weird brain for random trivia questions related to history, science, and geography. I am much less successful with music and sports trivia. If you weren’t a principal, what career would you choose? I would still be a teacher because students are awesome!”
