WSDOT Work Begins on Fish Passage Project

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

State Route 9 near Kalloch Road will operate with a single lane and alternating traffic through a bypass road starting Aug. 3, 2026, for 42 days until Sept. 14. The project aims to improve fish passage at unnamed tributaries of Nookachamps and Hansen Creeks. WSDOT says delays are expected in the area.

Another SR 9 project will alternate traffic daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays starting Aug. 21 until Sept. 3, just south of Mount Vernon Big Lake Road. The work is also for fish passage construction. WSDOT advises drivers to expect delays during these periods.
